Abstract
Pemakaian internet tidak lagi menjadi suatu komoditas yang langka. Sebaliknya, yang tidak menggunakan internet akan jauh tertinggal dan tidak akan mampu beradaptasi dengan perubahan yang cepat. Disisi lain, penggunaan internet secara berlebihan akan menimbulkan masalah yang lebih besar seperti kecanduan. Generasi yang paling terdampak perkembangan teknologi informasi yang pesat adalah generasi Z. Generasi Z lahir tahun 1995-2009 sehingga masuk ke dalam kategori remaja awal sampai dengan akhir di tahun 2020. Adiksi terhadap internet dapat memberikan dampak negatif berupa masalah psikologis maupun sosial pada diri remaja. Contoh masalah tersebut antara lain rasa kesepian, depresi hingga penurunan prestasi belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh self-compassion dan grit terhadap adiksi internet pada generasi Z. Metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan skala jenis likert akan digunakan. Subjek penelitian melibatkan 318 individu yang termasuk dalam usia generasi Z dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil akhir menunjukan bahwa self-compassion dan grit berpengaruh secara signifikan (p<0.01) terhadap adiksi internet generasi Z sebesar 20.8%. Secara terpisah, grit berpengaruh terhadap adiksi internet sebesar 17% sedangkan self-compassion berpengaruh terhadap adiksi internet sebesar 18%. Penjelasan mengenai dinamika hubungan diantara ketiga variabel dijelaskan dalam pembahasan.
