Abstract
Pasar tradisional merupakan salah satu ruang publik yang menjadi identitas sebuah kota dimana memiliki beragam nilai sosial dan budaya sehingga keberadaannya perlu mendapat perhatian khusus untuk meningkatkan citra kota (image of the city). Salah satu bentuk pasar tradisional yang banyak dijumpai di Kota Batam, Indonesia adalah pasar kaget yang bersifat seketika dimana menjadi peluang usaha bagi para pedagang kecil dan memberikan kemudahan bagi warga sekitar untuk memperoleh kebutuhan sehari-hari. Pada umumnya, pasar kaget muncul pada lahan yang memiliki karakter sebagai pusat keramaian di suatu permukiman dan ruas jalan yang dilalui banyak pengendara. Pasar Kaget Tiban Kampung, merupakan salah satu pasar kaget di Kota Batam yang memiliki lokasi cukup unik yakni di lahan parkir yang berada tepat di sebelah TPS (Tempat Pembuangan Sementara). Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk memaksimalkan potensi dan memperkuat identitas Pasar Kaget Tiban Kampung melalui usulan konsep desain penataan ulang. Konsep tersebut disusun berdasarkan hasil analisis SWOT dan noema noesis pasar tersebut. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan antara lain observasi dan wawancara semi-terstruktur.

Abstract
The traditional market is one of the public spaces that become identity of a city which has various social and cultural values so that its existence needs special attention to improve the image of the city. One form of traditional markets that are often found in Batam City, Indonesia is street market called Pasar Kaget which is a business opportunity for small traders and makes it easy for local residents to get their daily needs. In general, Pasar Kaget appears on land that has the character of being the center of a crowd in a settlement and roads. Tiban Kampung Market is one of the Pasar Kaget in Batam City which has a quite unique location in the parking lot right next to the Temporary Disposal Site. This qualitative descriptive study aims to maximize the potential and strengthen the identity of the Tiban Kampung street market by proposing the rearrangement design concept. The concept is compiled based on the results of SWOT and noema-noesis analysis of the street market. Data collection techniques include observation and semi-structured interviews.
